Vicky Kaushal ready to jump into commercial film

Actor Vicky Kaushal, who shot to fame with the independent film Masaan, says he is not immune to the charms of commercial cinema.

“Of course [I want to do commercial films]. I feel as an actor it’s my duty to cater to every kind of audience and Masaan and Zubaan were films that happened to me, the films that chose me,” he said.

Zubaan was a musical drama film by Mozez Singh that also featured actress Sarah Jane Dias.

“I have been brought up watching those films and I myself get entertained by those films. So, definitely looking forward to them,” Kaushal added.

Kaushal has two films in the pipeline.

“My next is Anurag Kashyap’s Raman Raghav co-starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and after that I would start shooting for Manmarziyaan,” he said.

Manmarziyaan also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana.

Talking about his co-stars, Kaushal said: “I am a Punjabi, so is Ayushmann, so we connect then and there... and Bhumi is just fantastic. I think they both are fabulous. They were great in Dum Laga Ke Haisha... Bhumi is just fabulous and has great energy.”
