As Shah Rukh Khan gets ready to roll out his thriller Fan this weekend, we asked the superstar a few quirky questions. Here are four little-known facts about one of Bollywood’s biggest stars:

What is the strangest thing you find annoying about other people?

People get hungry quick. They keep saying “Chalo, khaana khaathe hai” [Come, let’s eat]. But how many times will you eat? The last thing that you can die of is starvation. It takes 12 weeks. It’s not annoying per se, but shocking.

What bad manners do you dislike in other people?

When you don’t say ‘Thank You’. For instance, somebody is serving you and you forget to thank them. Serving someone is one of the most marvellous acts.

What’s your strangest, wimpiest fear?

I can’t sit on swings. We are not talking roller coasters here or giant wheels. Even a baby swing is daunting. I can jump from six storey buildings or hang on a wire hundred feet off the ground, but I cannot sit on a swing. I am scared of it. When I was filming for Devdas, I nearly broke Aishwarya’s [Rai Bachchan] finger, out of fear.

What can someone do to impress you?

Understand my sense of humour. Half of people don’t get my jokes. The other day I was giving an interview and I was joking. And this journalist had a straight face, which made me think: ‘oh [expletive]: what has this person made out from my jokes’. I am happy when people get my jokes.
