Bollywood star to play a wrestler in the action movie, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar
His first release of the year is not even out yet but Salman Khan’s ready for his next project, Sultan. Yash Raj Films on Tuesday announced it will produce the film, to be released on Eid 2016.
“Wrestling is not a sport. It’s about what lies within,” says the promo, quoting Sultan, the character that Khan will play in the action film. Ali Abbas Zafar, known for films such as Gunday and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, will write and direct.
The film was recently in the news after both Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut reportedly refused to be part of it. A female lead has not been announced.
Khan’s first film release following his conviction for ‘culpable homicide not amounting to murder’ in May, is Bajrangi Bhaijaan, out this Eid. In the film, Khan plays a man who volunteers to take a Pakistani girl left in India back to her home.
