Bengaluru girl to represent India at Miss Universe pageant

Noyonita Lodh from Bengaluru, who was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2014 on Sunday, will represent India at the Miss Universe contest in Miami on January 25, 2015.

Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta announced the winners of the grand finale, which was judged by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, actress Esha Gupta, a former Miss India, and designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil.

New Delhi’s Alankrita Sahai was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2014 first runner-up and Bengaluru’s Asha Bhat was second runner-up.

Each winner will get a fund worth Rs1 million for their respective international pageant.

The finale saw the contestants in outfits designed by Shantanu and Nikhil and hair and make-up by Dessange Paris.

The TV series was hosted by Dutta, who also mentored the contestants.
