TV personalities will be lining up to make your home sparkle

Dubai: Don't know what to do with that new flat you just purchased at Marina? Hard-up for design ideas that could change your sandlot of a backyard into a urban oasis?

Who better to gently push struggling homeowners in the right direction than a raft of top design celebrities the BBC, alongside famous chefs, at the first Ideal Home Exhibition in Dubai.

More than 150 exhibitors will be displaying over 200 brands of the latest trends from home technology to kitchenware, designer room sets to arts, crafts and textiles.

But it is the big names, working in two television-style theatres, that can teach you what to do with those new purchases.

The famous include chefs Antony Worrall Thompson, Sanjeev Kapoor and Lesley waters, interiors designers Linda Barker and garden expert Diarmuid Gavin.

"The show has received a remarkable reception from a broad base of exhibitors who will be presenting original solutions," said Lucy Clarke, exhibition manager of organisers Messe Frankfurt. Major exhibitors include Bosch Siemens, Falaknaz Habitat, Jacuzzi ME, Sherwood's Property Consultants, Marina Home Interiors and The Specialists.

Various zones have been designated for specific areas of interest, including The Interior Design Zone, The Kitchen to Table Zone, The Garden Zone, Tech Zone, Arts and Crafts Zone, Carpet and Rug Zone and Property Zone.

The most popular section is expected to be the brand new device from e Home Automation where customers can trigger home/office by voice, internet, and motion by phone and remote control.

Two theatres have also been designated to the show, the Inspiring Ideas Theatre, dedicated to design and the other dedicated to food, the Taste Temptation Theatre.

Each will give visitors the opportunity to experience first hand inspiration and advice on the latest trends.

In the Inspiring Ideas Theatre, Linda Barker, from the UK, from the BBC series "Changing Rooms" will be discussing the latest design trends.

As well as the theatre, seminars on pure Italian design will be headed by Italian interior designer with Best Italian Interior Design Rafaella Carnevale.

Paul Bishop. Who designed restaurants and commercial developments in Dubai, including Cin Cin and the Exchange Grill at the Fairmont Hotel and the Pool Deck at the Emirates Towers will also be present.

Two of BBC Food's celebrity Chefs, Antony Worrall Thomas and Lesley Waters, stars of the famous Ready Stead Cook, will be present at Taste Temptation Theatre, supported by Grosvenor House Hotel.

Chefs from some of the leading international hotels in Dubai will be challenging each other to see who can best present their culinary skills in a 30 minute feature.

The whole process is supported by the BBC Food channel.
