Sultan visits Abu Dhabi tourism pavilion at Frankfurt book fair

Germany: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Wednesday visited the pavilion of the Department of Culture and Tourism — Abu Dhabi, which is participating in the in Germany.

The National Library Department is participating in the fair, which is the world’s largest gathering of publishers, and coincides with the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Kalima project.

The project has translated over 1,000 titles from 13 languages into Arabic.

A discussion on Kalima’s experience in translating German books into Arabic — 100 titles have already been translated and published — is planned.

The Abu Dhabi pavilion will host a reception for the Shaikh Zayed Book Award next Thursday to discuss Arab culture in other languages.
