Presided over by Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, the meeting reviewed a memorandum presented by Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce Tourism Development Authority Sharjah (SCTDA).
He outlined a programme for training and licensing tour guides/instructors and conditions for implementing the tourist guide system.
The optional programme will be launched during this year for individuals and firms, he added.
According to the draft plan, all companies operating in the tourism sector should licence their guides, starting from 2010.
