Dubai: Sharjah is keen on entering the Spanish tourism market and boost tourism promotion, cooperation and exchange between the two destinations, according to a statement from the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) on Tuesday.

Sharjah has participated in tourism exhibitions and trade forums in Spain, aimed at increasing tourism exchange and investments, and expanding the size of the emirate’s tourism share in the region.

The launch of direct flights from the UAE to Spanish destinations, such as Madrid and Barcelona, has led to a significant increase in Spanish tourist arrivals in the country, according to Mohammad Al Noman, chairman of the SCTDA.
