DUBAI: Ras Al Khaimah experienced a jump in international visitors in the first quarter of 2017, the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) said in a statement on Monday.

New figures reported by RAKTDA, which develops the emirate’s tourism infrastructure and oversees its domestic and overseas promotions, show that the overall visitor arrivals to the emirate in the first quarter grew by 8.3 per cent year-on-year.

With domestic tourism still the single largest contributor to Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism performance, the arrivals this year were largely driven by growth from international source markets, which recorded a 11.3 per cent year-on-year rise over the first three months of the year.
