Visa card spending up 12% at DSF

Restaurants see top growth with $53.7m worth of transactions

Abu Dhabi: Total Visa card spending in the first two weeks of this year’s Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) went up 12 per cent compared to 2014’s figures, according to statistics by Visa, the electronic payments company.

Restaurants were among the top categories that saw spending growth, with Visa cardholders spending $53.7 million this year — up 31 per cent on last year’s $40.9 million.

Consumer electronics also saw increased spending, with a recorded $37.2 million, marking a 22 per cent rise.
