Dubai: Unilever, a global fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with supermarket chain Choithrams, according to a statement on Tuesday.
Under the MoU, Choithrams, which operates more than 32 stores in the UAE, plans to reduce its environmental impact through waste management and water and energy conservation at its sites in the UAE. The company has allocated $2 million for the project.
Some of the projects under the agreement include using energy efficient refrigeration systems in Choithrams’ stores and implementing comprehensive LED lighting in its warehouses.
