Dubai: Dohaland, an urban planner and master developer, yesterday said it had signed an agreement for 1.56 billion Qatari riyals (Dh1.57 billion) with the Joint Venture of Hyundai Engineering & Construction Company Ltd-HBK Contracting Company for the construction of the major buildings in Phase 1A of its signature Musheireb project.
Eisa M. Al Mohannadi, chief executive of Doha-land, said: "The commitment and experience shown by the consortium in their previous work was a consideration in their selection and we are sure that their contribution to the Musheireb development will be a perfect match with the vision and mission of Dohaland and its stakeholders."
Dohaland's Musheireb project, valued at 20 billion Qatari riyals, is expected to be completed in five phases, with the first phase due for completion by 2012, and the entire project by 2016.
