Middle East Rail conference opens in Dubai

Upcoming years to be crucial for execution of rail networks in the Gulf

Dubai: Middle East Rail, the region’s largest rail exhibition and conference, opened in Dubai on Tuesday.

Abdullah Bel Haif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works & Chairman of the National Transport Authority (NTA), opened the industry event following a keynote address.

The UAE is currently undergoing several rail projects including a national rail network transporting passengers and cargo.

The other five GCC countries are working on their own rail infrastructure that will be integrated with all member-states.

Middle East Rail runs for two days until Wednesday (February 5).
