Traded value on Saudi’s Tadawul jump 57% in first week of June

The total value of shares traded for the week ending June 8 amounted to 15.76 billion Saudi riyals (Dh15.43 billion), increasing by 57.40 per cent over the previous week.

The total stock market capitalisation reached 1,624.24 billion riyals at the end of this period, increasing by 0.20 per cent over the previous week, the Tadawul said in a statement on its website.

The total value of shares purchased by Saudi Investors during this period amounted to 14.79 billion riyals representing 93.83 per cent of total buying activity, and sales of 15.04 billion riyals representing 95.41 per cent of total selling activity. Total ownership of Saudi Investors stood at 93.50 per cent of total market capitalisation as of June 8, representing an increase of 0.01 per cent from the previous week.

The total value of shares purchased by GCC Investors during this period amounted to 0.280 billion riyals representing 1.78 per cent of total buying activity, and sales of 0.275 billion riyals representing 1.74 per cent of total selling activity.

The total value of shares purchased by Foreign Investors during this period amounted to 0.693 billion riyals representing 4.39 per cent of total buying activity, and sales of 0.449 billion riyals representing 2.85 per cent of total selling activity. Total ownership of Foreign Investors stood at 4.23 per cent of total market capitalisation as of June 8, representing an increase of 0.01% from the previous week.
