Adnoc Drilling has been awarded a major five-year contract worth up to $800 million by Adnoc Onshore, aimed at expanding hydraulic fracturing services across key UAE oilfields. The agreement will support the development of both conventional and tight reservoirs, with operations set to begin in the third quarter of 2025.

This marks Adnoc Drilling’s fifth major contract win in just over two months, bringing its total awarded deals to $4.8 billion. The company said the contract reinforces its role as a fully integrated energy services provider and extends its long-term revenue pipeline.

The scope includes the design and execution of multistage hydraulic fracturing treatments across a range of Adnoc Onshore assets. Fracturing helps improve oil and gas flow rates and enhance overall production.

Deploying AI

Adnoc Drilling will deploy advanced technologies including AI, automated pumping units, and real-time fracturing simulations to optimise operations and reduce environmental impact. The company expects the deal to support its financial guidance for 2025–2026 and contribute to growth in 2027 and beyond.

“This significant contract is a powerful endorsement of Adnoc Drilling’s expanding capabilities and our trusted partnership with Adnoc Onshore,” said CEO Abdulla Ateya Al Messabi. “We are proud to support the UAE’s energy strategy while delivering smart, safe, and sustainable outcomes.”

The new deal follows a string of recent awards, including a $1.63 billion contract for Integrated Drilling Services, a $1.15 billion agreement for two jack-up rigs, and a $400 million acquisition backlog in Oman and Kuwait.

Revenues from the new contract will depend on operational call-offs and project execution, but Adnoc Drilling expects the agreement to boost return on equity and earnings per share over the long term.
