Jewellery Arabia will offer dazzling luxury
Manama: Over 500 exhibitors from 27 nations will exhibit items ranging from jewellery to luxury timepieces, to precious stones of every size, shape and cut, at Jewellery Arabia 2007 which opens on November 13.
Held under the patronage of Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the largest industry showcase in the Middle East - in its largest edition in the 16-year history of the series - will feature the finest gems and jewels by some of the most prestigious jewellers and watchmakers in the world.
To accommodate the increasing demand for space from exhibitors, the show organisers Arabian Exhibition Management (AEM) have commissioned two temporary halls this year to extend the existing facilities at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre - making Jewellery Arabia 2007 the largest show to date. Eminent jewellery houses and watch manufacturers are making a return appearance at Jewellery Arabia 2007 and these include Cartier, Chopard, De Beers, Graff Diamonds, Harry Winston, Patek Phillipe, Piaget and Van Cleef & Arpels amongst many others.
International pavilions from Brazil, Greece, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Thailand and Turkey; in addition to a strong Lebanese and GCC contingent concludes this lineup.
Prestigious exhibition
Since its inauguration in 1992, Jewellery Arabia has firmly established itself as the biggest and most prestigious jewellery exhibition in the Middle East, providing international jewellery houses with direct access to trade buyers and private collectors.
Last year's show saw a 14 per cent increase in visitors, attracting a record total of 40,113 jewellery trade buyers and private collectors. Of the total number, 13,155 visitors (32 per cent) were drawn from the region's single largest jewellery market - Saudi Arabia - with significant support from Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, the UAE and other neighbouring countries.
Middle East watches and jewellery awards
The Middle East Watches, Jewellery and Pen Awards will be held in tandem with Jewellery Arabia 2007 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Bahrain on November 13.
The awards are the culmination of an online public voting system and the analysis of an elite 16-member committee that comprises watch, jewellery and pen collectors, connoisseurs and aficionados with no direct commercial ties to the industry.
