Dubai: After witnessing huge growth in 2009, Dubai Airport Free Zone will add 305,000 square feet by 2012, after having been named the best free zone in the Middle East and the second best in the world.

The ranking comes from the Financial Times' Foreign Direct Investment magazine, which named the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone the best among 200 free zones. For future growth, the free zone will add 75,000 square metres next year and has plans to expand a further 230,000 in 2012.
