ETA Star attributes success to superior performance
Dubai: The only winner in the real estate development category for the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award was ETA Star Properties, one of the country's largest private developers.
Syed Salahuddin, managing director of ETA Ascon Star Group, the holding company, told Gulf News, "This award definitely creates a positive response within the company. It makes people work to perform better."
The key strategy to achieve superior performance in the sector is quality and timeliness, Salahuddin said.
"Our company was not overly exposed to the crisis and we try to serve our customers in the proper way. In all our procedures and dealing, we follow high standards. We try to maintain the quality that we promise. We don't go back on the quality. Delivery time is also important and we try to maintain it to the best of our abilities. There can be some uncontrollable setbacks, but otherwise, we maintain our promises," he said.
He said that while he was "very happy to receive the award, it does not mean that other companies are much lower than us. They also have high standards".
Established in 1973, the group is jointly owned by Abdullah Al Ghurair and Amana Investments. It currently has 70,000 employees and a turnover of about $6 billion.
ETA Star is developing over 50 million square feet of premium property in countries in Middle East and South East Asia, including UAE, Oman and India.
In the UAE, ETA Star's portfolio currently includes premium commercial, residential and hospitality projects.
