Abu Dhabi: A series of renewable energy projects made possible by the $50 million (Dh183.6 million) UAE-Pacific Partnership Fund are set to be inaugurated this week in the Pacific Island countries and territories, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company Masdar said on Monday.
The projects will come on stream across five islands namely Solomon Islands, Nauru, the Marshall Islands, Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia.
Once inaugurated, the projects will deliver a total of 3.1 megawatts of clean energy and will displace over 4,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
