DP World Saigon terminal reaches new milestone

Dubai: The largest vessel to call at the DP World operated Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT) in Vietnam arrived this week, according to the operator.

NYK owned Northen Genius, capacity of 4,300 TEU (twenty foot equivalent units) and a dwt (dead weight tonnage) of 54,000 sailed the new 54 kilometre Soai Rap River channel that opened earlier this year. The arrival of the Northern Genius follows the first vessel to sail the new channel, the MSC Xutra Bhum, in Apri.
