Merint Determination Center hosts event for Children of Determination

Merint Determination Center hosted an event for parents and families of the Children of Determination on December 21, 2022. At this event over 50 children of determination performed in front of a full house of over 200 people, mostly the parents and families.

The Mission Statement of the Merint Group has always been Bringing Smiles. Richa Marwaha, Director of the Merint Determination Center took the opportunity of this event to announce the launch of a Bringing Smiles Community Project: BRISCO.

The objective of BRISCO is to give parents of children with special needs a platform to share, meet, and organise outings as a community which as a parent of special needs sometimes can become overwhelming to achieve singly.

In the words of Richa Marwaha “We can advance together if we work together to build relationships, interact, and join together. Parent partnerships and parent-led initiatives are the way forward. Merint Determination Center is now striving to reach many other children and families of determination through their platform”.

"Building a network of all parents going through similar experiences and situations will be therapeutic in nature and will help reduce the distress that families go through alone. By sharing their life experiences with one another, parents will be able to assist, support and guide each other's parenting responsibilities", says Fazal Mehemood Kassam Ali Manekia, Chairman of the Merint Group of Companies.

Merint Determination Center focuses on a day-school programmme concentrating on communication, behavioural, occupational, and speech therapy for children aged 3+ up to 18. MDC serves more than ten different nationalities and has a total enrollment of 60 students and 37 staff members.

According to Richa Marwaha, “When it comes to the facilities the Government is providing and the needs of a special child, our region has a lot to offer, and everyone can benefit from these initiatives undertaken by both the Government and the fraternity members,”.

The Merint Group of Companies established MDC as an initiative to serve families with determination. The facility is now aiming to spread to further areas of the nation in an effort to help families in need.

This event was presided by Palani Babu, Head of Facility Licensing Department, community development authority Dubai, as Guest of Honour.
