Citibank UAE launches contactless payment cards

Abu Dhabi: Citibank UAE and MasterCard launched on Sunday contactless payment technology for Citi MasterCard credit cards in the country. The launch marks an expansion of Citi’s contactless payments to the company’s UAE-based cardholders.

The initiative aims to enhance the consumer spending experience, and support the UAE in becoming more technologically advanced.

Contactless payments are payment transactions that do not require physical contact between the credit card and the merchant’s terminal, and are faster and more secure, according to Citi.
