Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has resumed its scheduled flights to and from the UAE capital starting today, the carrier has announced.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi was among the many airlines that had briefly suspended their operations following the closure of regional airspaces after Iran’s strikes on a US base in Qatar. The strikes resulted Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait closing their airspaces.

Operations in Dubai, too, were affected briefly.

In an earlier statement, the airline had said their flights to and from the UAE will be suspended until June 30.

"In light of the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East, and due to the closure of multiple airspaces across the region yesterday evening we diverted our flights to alternative airports. We are cancelling flights to and from the United Arab Emirates until 30 June, inclusive. The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority," the previous statement said.
