Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, toured the Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC) on Saturday.

The Crown Prince praised EKFC’s role in bolstering Dubai’s aviation sector. “Each day, the team produces over 250,000 meals for Emirates and more than 100 international airlines, a remarkable achievement that reflects the competitiveness and excellence of Dubai’s aviation sector,” Sheikh Hamdan shared in a post on his X account.

He added. “The visit offered a first-hand look at their impressive scale, advanced smart systems, and strong focus on quality, innovation and sustainability.”

A subsidiary of The Emirates Group, EKFC provides catering and support services for Emirates Airlines and nearly 100 other carriers based at Dubai International Airport. EKFC is one of the world’s most extensive catering operations, producing many meals daily and offering various services, including airline catering, airport dining, event catering, and food supplies to various industries.

The catering company employs over 2,100 chefs and 12,000 employees. It serves 498 flights per day with over 9,500 menus.
