Gulf Air to resume Baghdad flights

Services were suspended last month after a shooting incident involving flydubai

Dubai: Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air, said on Thursday it will resume services to the Iraqi capital on Saturday, which were suspended last month after a shooting incident involving another airline at Baghdad International Airport.

The airline said in a statement it decided to restart flights between Bahrain and Baghdad following “comprehensive safety and security assessments” it conducted over the past week.

UAE carriers Emirates, Etihad Airways, Air Arabia and flydubai, which was involved in the shooting incident, all suspended services to Baghdad last month.
