Dubai: Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air, is re-launching flights to Tehran, Iran, with four weekly services starting on March 3.
Gulf Air announced in 2012 it was resuming flights but later postponed the resumption citing a delay in approval from Iranian authorities. Tensions between the two countries have increased in recent years with Bahrain accusing Tehran of supporting pro-democracy protests in Bahrain.
Gulf Air is a state-owned airline. Its chairman is Bahrain’s Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
