Dubai: The sizzling growth of the region's aviation industry has prompted multinational aircraft maintenance company Goodrich to set up a $25 million facility in Dubai.
Goodrich, which will earn roughly $6.6 billion in revenues this year as a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider, has built the facility in Jebel Ali free zone. The unit will be inaugurated next week during the Dubai Airshow.
The 115,000 square foot facility will serve Goodrich's growing list of Middle East clients operating commercial and military aircraft.
In a statement, the company said: "The new site is strategically located to serve our EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) customers and provide a range of services which span Goodrich's diverse original manufactured equipment. It is all about enhancing the speed and ease of doing business by providing the right assets in the right place at the right time."
Goodrich seeks a bigger slice of the growing military MRO market in the Middle East. It also sees potential business in US and UK military aircraft travelling through the region.
