GE wins $9m airport security deal

Dubai: GE Security, a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Electric Company, yesterday said it has sold CTX 9000 advanced-technology explosives detection systems to Dubai Civil Aviation in a contract valued at more than $9 million.

The systems will be deployed at Dubai International Airport's terminal three this year.

Recognised for its high performance and throughput rate, the GE Security CTX 9000 DSi system represents the latest in CTX technology. Designed to integrate with airport baggage handling systems, the CTX 9000 DSi system is TSA-certified and can help customers operating in fast-paced airport environments.

It is currently the highest operational throughput explosives detection system designed for BHS integration and its metre-wide conveyor belt and large tunnel opening can accommodate both large and standard-size bags.
