Dubai: Emirates will restart passenger flights to Baghdad on September 17 after suspending services in January due to safety and security reasons.

Flights will resume next month with four weekly services between Dubai and the Iraqi capital operated by a three-class Airbus A330-200, the airline said in an emailed statement.

Emirates suspended flights in January after bullets were fired at a flydubai aircraft landing at Baghdad airport.

Emirates said it decided to resume services after “an exhaustive safety and security review.”
