Dubai: Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT) has signed a deal to provide business jet pilot training for flight crew of Empire Aviation Group (EAG).

Under the agreement signed on Tuesday, EAG's flight crew will start training immediately, using the Hawker 800/800XP full-flight simulator, in addition to classroom-based training.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, expressed delight at the new deal.

“Emirates-CAE Flight Training has built up a reputation in the past five years as a world-class training facility and it now plays a vital role within the aviation industry in the Middle East, Europe and West Asia,'' he said during the signing of the deal at the Dubai Airshow.

Shaikh Tariq Bin Faisal Al Qassimi, chairman of Empire Aviation Group and Emirates Investment Group, said EAG is now one of the major players in the region's private aviation industry.

ECFT has ordered a new CAE 5000 Series Hawker Beechcraft Hawker 800 XPi and a CAE 7000 Series Bombardier Global Express full-flight simulator, which will be installed in 2009.

The simulators will feature the CAE TrueTM Electric Motion System, as well as CAE's next-generation visual solution, including the new CAE Tropos TM-6000 visual system and Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) projectors.

The CAE 5000 Series full-flight simulator for the Hawker 800 XPi will be the first 5000 Series simulator designed and manufactured for that aircraft type. CAE launched the 5000 Series earlier this year.
