Wolf wins team event while three-way tie in individual event still

Chiara Noja moves upto tied seventh going into the weekend

Team Wolf triumphed at the Aramco Team Series presented by Public Investment Fund – Singapore as they recorded a final round of 14-under-par to clinch a one-stroke victory.

After starting the day one shot behind leaders Team Young, Christine Wolf, Casandra Alexander, Eleanor Givens and amateur Katsuko Blalock back up their great first round with another excellent day on the golf course.

It was a fast front nine as the Team soared to a score of -26 with nine holes left to play, but despite it being more of a struggle on the back nine Alexander rolled in the crucial birdie on 18 to seal victory with a total of 29-under-par.

In the $500,000 Team Event, Team Noja had a best two scores from the team of four second round of 11 under par to finish on 22 under, seven back of the winners in tied 13th place from the 26 teams in the field. Ciara said of the Team Event, ‘I enjoy being Captain of Team Noja because of the team spirit and rooting for other players is very refreshing.’

In the individual which is still ongoing, round one solo leader Nicole Garcia (RSA) has been joined by Danielle Kang (US) and Pauline Roussin (Fr). Garcia has three wins on the Sunshine Ladies’ Tour to her name, Roussin is the former Women’s World Number One Amateur golfer and 30 year-old Kang, currently14th in the Women’s World Rankings, has six LPGA victories on her career CV, including one major, the 2017 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Dubai based 16 year-old Chiara Noja (Ger) followed up her round one 71 with a three under par 69 to move upto tied seventh place. Chiara’s round, starting on hole 10, had nines of 35 and 34 with six birdies.

Chiara is tied alongside Women’s World Number One Lydia Ko (NZ) on four under with 2022 Race to Costa Del Sol Order of Merit champion, Linn Grant (Swe), 24th in the World Rankings in tied fourth on five under par two back of the leaders.

The final round for Pros only begins tomorrow (Saturday). Chiara tees off at 11.32 am from tee one with Alice Hewson (Eng) and 2019 Solheim Cup player Bronte Law (Eng) who won the 2021 Dubai Moonlight Classic as well as the 2022 ARAMCO Team Series – London.

The ARAMCO Team Series – Singapore, can be watched live tomorrow (Saturday) on Dubai Sports Channel from 9 am on DSC 2.
