Iturrioz sitting pretty in LET's Aramco Team Series
Scotland’s Louise Duncan is in second place on the leaderboard with three holes remaining
Team Roussin and Nuria Iturrioz still sit at the top of the leaderboards at the end of the second day of the 54-hole $1 million Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Florida at Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach on the Ladies European Tour.
After the first round was completed on Saturday morning, due to a lightning delay on day one, the second round got underway, but play was suspended due to bad light at approximately 8 pm local time.
In the individual competition, three time LET winner Iturrioz still leads the way on five under par but will have to come back in the morning to complete her second round.
The Spaniard dropped shots on five and eight but immediately bounced back with a birdie on the ninth, before rolling in another birdie on 14 – her final hole before play was suspended.
2019 Dubai Moonlight Classic winner
Iturrioz turned professional in 2015 and won the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco in both 2016 and 2018 and her most recent professional win was the 2019 Dubai Moonlight Classic at Emirates Golf Club, where she had rounds of 67, 68 and 71 over the Faldo Course to win by one shot from JA The Resort Ambassador Olivia Cowen and Esther Henselit.
Scotland’s Louise Duncan is in second place on the leaderboard on four under par having made three birdies and two bogeys so far, but the 23 year-old still has three holes left to play today (Sunday).
Spain’s Carlota Ciganda is in a share of third place on three under par alongside Klara Davidson Spilkova.
Lindsey Weaver-Wright sits in fifth place on two-under-par after carding a round of 69, while world number three Lydia Ko, England’s Liz Young and France’s Pauline Roussin are one shot further back.
American pair Alison Lee and Lexi Thompson round out the top 10 on even par after shooting rounds of 74 and 73, respectively.
Chiara Noja in tied 50th
Dubai’s Chiara Noja shot a second round of 75 to go along with her first round of 77 to be in tied 50th place on eight over par.
The current 36-hole projected cut is nine over par.
In the Team Event, there are eight of the 36 Teams left to complete their second round including Team Roussin who currently lead with a score of 28 under par.
