Golf: What's on around the world this week
The DP World Tour, co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour hosts its fifth tournament of the 2022 – 23 season with the €1.5 million Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek CC, South Africa.
The entry list includes Dubai based Adrian Otaegui (Spain), recent winner on the DP World Tour Dan Bradbury (England) and a host of South African entries, including Ernie Els, Charl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen, Branden Grace, last week’s winner Thriston Lawrence, and a host of Sunshine Tour players.
Non-South Africans playing include; Eddie Pepperelll (England), Edoardo Molinari (Italy) and last week’s runner-up Clément Sordet (France).
On the PGA Tour the 38th edition of the QBE Shootout is this week’s event, with 12 teams of two competing with 12 of the top 50 in the world in the list of entries.
For the first time in the history of the tournament two LPGA players are competing: Nelly Korda is paired with Denny McCarthy and Lexi Thompson, number seven in the world, paired with Maverick McNealy.
The format for the three rounds is as follows; round one as a scramble, round two a modified alternate shot format and the final round a betterball format.
Leading teams entered included; Max Homa and Kevin Kisner, Jason Day and Billy Horschel and Steve Stricker and Cameron Young.
On the European Legends Tour the MCB Tour Championship – Mauritius takes place to determine the final Order of Merit places and the John Jacobs Trophy, for the winner of the 2022 Order of Merit.
While on the Asian Develpent Tour, history will be made this week as they come to Saudi Arabia for the first time for the PIF Saudi Open.
