Chiara Noja diary: A satisfactory week for me at ARAMCO Team Series

Bangkok: I shot a level-par 72 in the final round of this week’s 54-hole ARAMCO Team Series – Bangkok today, to go with my first two rounds of 71, to finish two under par and tied 22nd.

One birdie and one bogey over the Thai Country Club’s 6,358 yard course was the story of my day and, perhaps, the story of my week.

Nothing really happened out there all week, I missed a few too many greens, and I had 43 pars out of 54 holes which are good numbers but not enough birdies and red numbers to be in the mix.

A 13-under par was the winning score by Manon De Roey (Belgium) and congratulations to her on her first LET victory.

It was another warm one out there today, I have still not got used to it yet after one week in the city, it started cooler today and then the humidity hit us after about one hour.

Tonight (Saturday) I am flying with my Dad, who doubles up as my caddy, direct to Finland and then staying in Copenhagen for a couple of days, and then we drive to our final destination in Sweden, to play in the PGA Championship Trelleborg, May 19–21, 2022 at Tegelberga Golf Club, Sweden, where there is a €50,000 prize fund on the LET Access Tour, where I have my full playing rights.

I was second in the LET Access Tour’s Order of Merit, before this week’s event in Switzerland which also finishes today (Saturday). I will be watching where I am at the end of the day.

I then have a week off after Sweden and then play again on the LET Access Tour, in Prague, Czech Republic in the AMUNDI Czech Ladies Challenge.

Then I will see how my season is going and review my schedule and all my playing opportunities. My ambition this year is to secure my full LET card for 2023, hopefully through the LET Access Tour, with the top six players at the end of the year gaining promotion to the LET.

The other options are through the LET Q-School, which I was too young at 15 years old to play in last year and the third option is to win a tournament on the LET.

Hopefully, with a few more invites from our friends at ARAMCO to get in their ARAMCO Team Series events around the world, one way or another, I will be well on my way my target.

I will now pack my golf clubs and all my luggage and will be staying with friends and family throughout my European summer adventure and I will only return to Dubai in September. It will be a while before I am home.
