The Annual Captain’s Season Opener at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club welcomed in new men’s captain, Muhammad Shafiq.

The 69-year-old, originally from Pakistan, boasts a 17 handicap.

On Saturday a field of over 40 golfers played in an individual Stableford format with the captain playing with all groups on the golf course with the captain’s score on that hole counting, if he beats the player’s score.

The winner of the Captain’s Season opener was Tim Craig, who produced the best golf on the day scoring a very impressive 40 Stableford points with a round including an impressive eight birdies. Mohammad Firdaus claimed second place with 39 Stableford points with Amir Inam in third with 38 points.

The best gross of the day went to SGSC Scratch League player Ramli Sulaiman with 35 points pipping Enore Paoli on 32 points.

Congratulations were given by the members at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club to Muhammad on the start of his 2021-2022 year of captaincy. Vice-captain AE Ravi was also introduced to the Membership at this event.
