Rooney nets the top spot at Jumeirah Golf Estates

Craig Rooney has claimed the Jumeirah Golf Estates Summer Open with an Individual Stableford score of 41 points over the Earth course.

100 players took part in the annual tournament on Saturday in which the format was an Individual Stableford with 95% course handicap allowance and a maximum handicap of 24 for men and 28 for ladies. Also on offer was an Individual Stroke Play event, the best gross score.

While Rooney took the plaudits of top spot by three points, in second place on countback was Carl Downham with 38 points. A score matched by Thomas Stephenson in third via countback, and in fourth spot with a rollercoaster round of golf on 37 points, Ronan Keating.

The best gross score went to David Bainbridge with a score of 70, while best ladies went to Jumeirah Golf Estates Lady Captain, Evelyn Downham.

Whilst concluding the prize-giving presentation, Adam Stastny, Assistant Services Manager at Jumeirah Golf Estates, commented, “A huge congratulations to all our prize winners today.
