England’s Joshua Grenville-Wood set a blistering pace on the first day of the PIF Saudi Open, with 12 birdies and only two dropped shots propelling him to a 10-under-par round of 62 and a three shot lead over the field on the Asian Development Tour.

Saudi Amateur Saud Abdullah Al Sharif, sits three shots back in a trio of others who all had impressive bogey free 65's at Riyadh Golf Club. Alongside him at seven under par is Morocco’s Ahmed Marjan and Naraajie E. Ramadhanputra from Indonesia.

In an international field other notees, England’s William Harold opened up with a 5 under par 67, American Dodge Kemmer a further shot back after a bogey free 68, a score matched also by Norway’s Jarand Ekeland Arnoy.

Last year’s winner, Faisal Salhab from Saudi Arabia holed out for an eagle two on the 18th on his way to a one under par 71. While Kipp Popert who is fresh off his fifth G4D Tour tile in Australia winning by a stunning seven shots is at one over par.
