Henry Lamont remains cool in the Red Hot Open

The annual event at Jumeirah Golf Estates was won by Lamont with 45 stableford points

Henry Lamont (17) recorded a stunning 45 stableford point total to be crowned winner of Jumeirah Golf Estates' annual Red Hot Summer Open.

The event was played in a stableford format with a difference, as the Men’s category played off the forward tees and the Ladies off the Junior tees to promote high point scoring! With Lamont securing top spot, Wael Soliman (17) recorded 44 points to clinch second spot.

Third place was taken by Annabel Ayres (13) who scored a respectable 43 points. While just missing out on third place due to countback was Kieran Casey (12), who also returned a score of 43 points.

The winner of the gross stableford was Brent Michael Osachoff who shot a fantastic score of 43 points (65 gross). His round included six birdies and one eagle. Finishing runner-up was Nicholas Whiteford with a score of 40 points (68 gross). Highlight of his round was on the 12th hole where Whiteford drove the green with a three wood to ten foot, setting up a tap-in birdie.

Onto the on-course events, and securing 'Nearest the Pin on Hole 2' was Alex Whayman. Ian McInerney secured 'Nearest the Pin on Hole 8' with a fantastic shot to eight inches. Another close attempt went to Harry Northrop who hit it to seven inches to claim 'Nearest to the Pin on Hole 11'. Onto the 14th and Jay Chinchankar claimed the 'Nearest to the Pin' with a great shot to three feet.

Whilst concluding the prize giving presentation Adam Stastny, Assistant Golf Services Manager, commented; “As always, a huge thank you to the players for coming out in these hot conditions and playing our Red Hot Open, I trust despite the humidity you all enjoyed the unique challenge that the shorter course provides you with. Massive congratulations go to all of today’s prize winners.”
