Ahmed secures silver for UAE at the Pan Arab Ladies and Youth Golf Championships

As well as individual silver, Ahmed helped the Boys 18 & Under team clinch silver

Rayan Ahmed led the UAE Boys 18 & Under team to a Silver Medal at the 2024 Pan Arab Ladies and Youth Golf Championships, held at The Residences Golf Course in Gammarth, Tunisia.

In addition to his team success, Ahmed claimed the Silver Medal in the Boys 18 & Under Individual Category with impressive rounds of 71, 70, and 74, finishing with a championship total of 215, 1-under-par.

His teammate, Mohammad Skaik, contributed as the UAE's second counting score with rounds of 66, 78, and 79. Skaik's opening 66 was his career-best in a championship event, earning him sixth place in the Individual Category.

The team's third player, Neyl Cherrat, finished in nine place individually.

The championships also featured Boys 16 & Under and Boys 13 & Under Divisions. Representing the UAE Boys 16 & Under team were Mohammed Thabet, Abdulla Darwash, and Abdulla Salmeen, who finished in sixth place overall.

Morocco secured Gold in both the Boys 18 & Under and Boys 13 & Under Divisions, while Tunisia, the host country, took Gold in the Boys 16 & Under Division.

The UAE delegation was accompanied by EGF officials, including Secretary General Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi, Director General Akram Skaik, and National Team Coaches Faycal Serghini and Samir Wallani.

Following the event, Vice-Chairman General Abdullah Al Hashmi said, “We are all extremely proud of our teams’ performance this past week. The hard work and dedication to the training paid off. Our program will use this as a springboard into the season. Although we are taking this time to celebrate and reflect we also know that there is a lot of work that still needs to be done. On behalf of Chairman His Excellency Shaikh Fahim Bin Sultan, the Federation would like to thank our coaches and administration. This success is a true team accomplishment.”
