Al Dhafra climb the standings

Dubai: Al Dhafra picked up three vital points in the fight for Arabian Gulf League survival on Thursday night as they defeated Emirates Club 2-0 at Hamdan Bin Zayed Stadium.

Abdallah Ismail Elrefaey opened the scoring for the hosts after 18 minutes and Khalid Bawazir doubled their advantage with 25 minutes on the clock. Try as they might, Emirates could not find a way back into the game.

The victory rocketed Al Dhafra up the table to seventh spot while Emirates languish in second bottom on four points.
