When is it happening and where? According to IANS, the celebrations are set to kick off with a sangeet ceremony today (December 7) followed by the mehendi ceremony on December 8. Joining two families: Kaushal’s big Punjabi family will welcome the British-Indian bride with a grand celebration. Sources told IANS that the mehendi ceremony will see both the families in attendance, “Katrina and Vicky will celebrate the mehendi ceremony with both sides of the family. Vicky has a big, loving and warm Punjabi family on his side and his chacha, chachi, mamaa, mami [aunts and uncles] are all looking forward to officially welcoming Katrina into the family.” Image Credit: ANI

Kaif’s family fly in: IANS also reports that despite all the fanfare and speculation about a massive celebration, it might be a very intimate affair with only 120 people attending. “The wedding preparations have been in full swing on his side for quite some time now. It’s going to be a joyous occasion for both sides with both their friends and family getting together to celebrate the couple’s special day,” the source said. “Katrina’s family has also specially flown down from London — her mom, her sisters and brother and her close group of friends. ‘Welcome note’ for guests goes viral: A note supposedly meant for wedding guests has been doing the rounds on the internet since Tuesday afternoon. “You are finally here! We hope you enjoy the road trip from Jaipur to Ranthambore. Please enjoy the refreshments that we have put together, while your journey through scenic villages and roads. Sit back, relax and brace yourselves for a fun-filled, exciting adventure,” the note read. It also seemed to confirm rumours that the guests have been told not to post about the events online. “We request you to please leave your mobile phones in your respective rooms and refrain from posting pictures or using social media for any of the ceremonies and events. The Salman question: There have been a lot of questions surrounding the possible attendance of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who has acted with Kaif in a number of movies and has even allegedly dated her. According to sources, Khan won’t be there but his family is expected to attend. The actor’s two sisters Arpita and Alvira will be there with their husbands — Arpita’s husband is ‘Antim’ actor Ayush Sharma and Alvira’s husband is actor-director Atul Agnihotri. Gurdas Maan to perform?: Veteran Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan is among several celebrities expected to attend Kaushal and Kaif’s nuptials. On Tuesday, the ‘Ki Banu Duniya Da’ hitmaker was spotted at Mumbai airport with his family. He will also reportedly perform at the festivities. Guests flock to airport: A number of Bollywood stars were photographed at the Mumbai airport as they prepared to jet off to Rajasthan. This includes Angad Bedi, Neha Dhupia (pictured), Kabir Khan and Mini Mathur. Radhika Madan, who worked with Vicky’s brother Sunny Kaushal in the film ‘Shiddat’, was also spotted at the Jaipur Airport. Kaif’s ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ director Nitya Mehra and Kaushal’s close friend and actor Malavika Mohanan were also seen there.
