By that yardstick, the 54th edition of the International Indian Film Festival Of India ticked that box with aplomb. Another star performer of the night was seasoned actress and dancer Madhuri Dixit. She was grace personified as she performed to her dance numbers from 'Devdas' and other iconic films. The night belonged to her as she also took home the honour for her contribution to Indian cinema. In her acceptance speech, she spoke about how IFFI was an emotion and that she felt incredibly privileged to receive the honour at a platform that celebrates cinema. Image Credit: IANS

Bollywood producer, director, and chat show host Karan Johar has become something of a staple at the IFFI. He was at the front row cheering all the dancers on. He also introduced his upcoming film 'Ae Watan Mere Watan' to the audiences. Starring Sara Ali Khan, the movie will be out on Amazon Prime Video early next year. It's a story of a young woman who becomes a freedom fighter during India's Independence era. "It's a story that will compel you to stand up for your rights," said Johar at the ceremony.
