Dubai: If you have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine but are unable to see the ‘vaccinated’ status on the AlHosn app, what can you do?

Gulf News received queries from readers who were unable to see the status, despite receiving the vaccination. One reader said: “I completed my first and second dose of vaccine and have completed 28 days after the second vaccine. My vaccine result should have been on the AlHosn app by now but until now it is not showing up. Please help me.”

Another reader wrote in, asking: “I would like to request help in getting some information about how we can get our ‘vaccinated’ mark on the AlHosn app. My first jab was taken on December 12, 2020 and the second one was on January 2, 2021. It has been two months since the second dose was received, but I cannot see the vaccinated status on the AlHosn app.”

What is the ‘vaccinated’ mark?

Once vaccinated, individuals get a symbol on their AlHosn application that grants exemption from presenting a negative COVID-19 test at the Abu Dhabi border. The mark can be either of the following:

1. Volunteers in the National Vaccination Programme will have a gold star

2. Vaccinated individuals will see an ‘E’ on the application.

How can you receive the status?

From January 17, Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee and Department of Health updated the procedures for exemptions in the emirate. According to the updated guidelines, these symbols will only be visible if a PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test is taken every seven days.

To retain the vaccination notification on the AlHosn application all those who are vaccinated or volunteering in the National Vaccination Programme will need to be tested weekly.

This status will remain valid for seven days at a time.

In a post shared by the Abu Dhabi Media Office on its official social media channels on January 30, 2021, the same guidelines was reiterated – a PCR test is needed for the special status (a star or ‘E’) to appear on AlHosn app and is valid for seven days. However, the post added that it is not required to maintain a valid active status unless it is needed to continuously enter the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
