Cartier, an official partner to the 79th Venice International Film Festival, honours director Walter Hill with the Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award

Cartier has once again returned to the Venice International Film Festival with an official partnership first initiated last year as part of Maison’s commitment to arts and culture, and cinema in particular.

With this partnership the Maison celebrates film and film personalities, presenting the Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award to director Walter Hill for his dedication and original contribution to cinema.

Two-time Academy Award-winner Christoph Waltz stars in Walter Hill’s latest western, Dead for a Dollar, premiering in Venice on September 6.

The American’s latest western Dead for a Dollar makes its world premiere in Venice on September 6, with an incredible cast that includes two-time Academy Award-winner Christoph Waltz, starring as a famous bounty hunter alongside the likes of Willem Dafoe, Rachel Brosnahan, Benjamin Bratt, Brandon Scott, and Warren Burke.

Cartier additionally took the opportunity of the Venice Film Festival to introduce Cartier Art Dialogues, “two masterclasses intended to explore the links between cinema and music”, as well as host an exhibition of jewels from the Cartier Collection, from María Félix to Josette Day, from Grace Kelly to Catherine Deneuve, taking place until September 10 in Venice.

The movie also features Willem Dafoe, Rachel Brosnahan, Benjamin Bratt, Brandon Scott, and Warren Burke.

“Dialogue with the world of the arts has always been a source of creative inspiration for the Maison, whether in contemporary art, cinema or music,” said Arnaud Carrez, Cartier’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “Our partnership with the Mostra is a new opportunity to create bridges between all the artistic disciplines that are dear to us.”
