Valentino rendez-vous, a fashion dream

Despite the rain in Paris, the Valentino Spring Summer 2022 show attracted a lot of people. Pierpaolo Piccioli offered Parisians the joy of fully living the physical experience of a parade by showing the collection in the middle of the street. Fashion is finally coming out of its ivory tower and becoming more democratic. A new vision for the house of Valentino, recognised for its haute couture know-how and for dressing the greats of this world.

After leaving Paris for Italy, parading in Milan and Venice for the latest haute couture collection, Valentino is back for the Parisians. The famous Italian fashion house wants to surprise us this season. No location to the Invalides or the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild, Valentino chose the Marais district, at the Carreau du Temple with the possibility of seeing the show from the neighbouring terraces. Various pop-up stores were open to allow visitors to discover the beauty line, accessories, and even a florist space for a weekend.

This season PPP (Pierpaolo Piccioli) wanted to revive the archives designed by Valentino Garavani himself. The first look, a silk organza dress embroidered with flowers, is the perfect reproduction of the one worn by former actress and model Marisa Berenson, who is one of the Valentino muses, but with contemporary styling walking in a pair of black ankle boots and a Rockstud handbag.

The collection is a composition of vivid colours, a relevant model diversity, without losing the couture DNA: sequins adorn a long cashmere coat or completely cover evening dresses by thousands, creating magic reflections to illuminate the rain-wet street.

Silk taffeta gives lightness to dresses and gabardines. About the men's looks: we can mention floral prints and the trend alert for tailoring sets, with the sublime coloured shirts with ribbon collars. We will match the accessories with novelties such as golden pearl necklaces and new men's bags. You even got the beautiful bouquet after the show, carefully prepared and packed with couture archive pictures. Bravo Valentino!
