The American has won 23 singles and 14 women’s doubles titles at Grand Slam events and will want to add to this to draw level with Australian Margaret Court’s record 24 Grand Slam singles victories. She is due to play with Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur and the pair are set to face Spain’s Sara Sorribes Tormo and Marie Bouzkova of the Czech Republic on centre court. No doubt Williams – who has been given a wildcard for the All England Club tournament which starts next week – will get a huge reception from fans as she continues to fight her way back to fitness.
