Dream cake recipe

This cake usually consists of three to five layers. The base layer is a soft and fluffy homemade chocolate sponge that can be soaked in chocolate milk for added flavour. A stable consistency is necessary for the filling, which can be achieved with either a mousse or a pudding. Finally, the top layer is a thin chocolate coating covered in a generous dusting of cocoa powder, which is what the cake is known for. Using a spoon to crack through the chocolate sheet reveals all the delectable layers, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for the person enjoying it.

Whisk the egg and sugar in a bowl until light fluffy, and the sugar is dissolved.

Add the vanilla extract, melted butter and combine it well. Mix the batter lightly so the air is knocked out from the eggs.

Mix the flour and cocoa powder into the egg and butter mixture by folding it in gently.

Transfer the batter to a 6-inch pan and bake it in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 30 minutes.

Once it's done, remove it from the oven and let it come to room temperature.

Take a box of your choice and cut out a piece of the cake of the same size. Place the cake slice at the bottom of your box. Keep it aside.

Then, pour the milk into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add the chopped dark chocolate.

Once the chocolate is melted, combine it well with the milk. Let it cool down for 15 minutes, then pour it on the cake layer.

Let it cool down, and then place it in the refrigerator to set for about 30 minutes.

Now melt the milk chocolate in a double boiler or microwave.

Remove the cake box from the refrigerator and pour the melted chocolate on it. Quickly spread it out so that it covers all corners.

Remove the excess chocolate if you want to ensure it is an even-thin layer. Let it sit in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.

Once set, remove it from the refrigerator and dust the cocoa powder on top using a fine sieve.

Serve immediately or store it covered in the refrigerator for serving later.

Tips:

1. You can customise the Dream Cake by using various cake sponge flavours, fillings, and chocolate layers.
