Top seven new K-drama to release in 2023

‘When the Stars Gossip’: Lee Min-ho (Legend of the Blue Sea) and Gong Hyo-jin (When the Camellia Blooms) unite for the big-budget sci-fi romance ‘When the Stars Gossip’, according to South China Morning Post. Director Park Shin-woo and writer Seo Sook-hyang have spearheaded the show. Lee plays an OB-GYN who meets an American astronaut when he visits a space station and sparks fly.

'Moving': This is a supernatural drama about three high school student and their parents who discover their super powers. It stars Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, and Zo In-sung.

‘Uncle Sam Shik’: Song Kang-ho, who won best actor at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival for his performance in Broker, will debut alongside ‘Uncle Sam Shik’ in a Korean television series for Slingshot Studio. The 10-episode series, set in 1960s South Korea, follows two guys as they navigate their bromance and challenges during a difficult period in the nation's history.

'Gyeongseong Creature': A thriller which follows individuals going up against monstrous creatures that were born out of human greed, according to the show brief on Netflix. The series is star studded and has all the elements of a mystery including a disappearance. The series features Park Seo-jun of Itaewon Class fame, and Tae-sang.

Mask girl: This series is about a woman Go Hyun –jung stars as Kim Mo-mi who isn’t confident about the way she looks but is empowered when she takes on the job as a masked broadcaster. But things don’t work out as planned.

‘Queen of Tears’: Kim Soo-hyun (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay) is returning to small screens alongside 'My Liberation Nots' actress Kim Ji-won in ‘Queen of Tears’. Kim Soo-hyun plays Baek Hyun-woo, who beecomes the pride of his hometown after becoming the head of the legal of a major firm. He is married to Kim Ji-won’s character Hong Hae-in, the daughter of the family that owns the company he works for.

JUNG_E’ : From Yeon Sang-ho, the director of acclaimed film ‘Train to Busan’ and hit series ‘Hellbound’, comes a new dystopian movie about a desolate Earth in the 22nd century that is no longer habitable due to climate change. Amid the chaos, an internal war breaks out in the shelter built for human survival. In order to end the war, the brain of an elite soldier has be cloned to create a robot mercenary. It stars Kang Soo-youn, and this is her last film. It also features Kim Hyun-joo and Ryu Kyung-soo.
