Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt honoured at Time100 event in Singapore
The pregnant actress took to Instagram to bask in awards glory and is thrilled at the win
Indian actress Alia Bhatt, who is expecting a baby with actor Ranbir Kapoor, was honoured with the Time100 Impact Award at a ceremony held at the National Gallery Singapore on October 2.
The Time100 Impact Award by Time Magazine, which debuted earlier this year in Dubai with Deepika Padukone being honoured, recognises visionaries who have gone above and beyond to move their respective industries forward.
"To be given this award tonight, amongst some of the finest people in the world, feels wonderfully overwhelming. Ten years ago, when my journey as an actor bgan, all I thought about is how I would one day take over the world," said Bhatt in a statement. She also added that she hopes to be a role model who's real, even if flawed.
"Because in movies and in life, you do not have to be perfect; you just have to bring everything you have -- the lows, the highs, and the real things we are afraid of speaking about. There is no impact than being yourself," she added.
The actress, who has featuried in movies including 'Darlings!', 'Gangubhai Kathiawadi', and 'RRR' recently, took to Instagram to share a series of images of her flaunting her trophy.
Dressed in a Grecian liquid bronze gown with a matching cape, Bhatt proved that she’s the modern equivalent of a super woman who can be on top of her acting game even with her growing baby bump.
As soon she posted her celebratory pictures, her mentor and movie mogul Karan Johar posted heart emojis and her fans lauded her for her latest achievement.
Bhatt was last seen in the Bollywood fantasy adventure 'Brahmastra' along with actor Ranbir Kapoor. The movie, which opened to mixed reviews, did robust box-office business.
She’s also working with Karan Johar and Ranveer Singh on ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’.
Bollywood isn’t her only goal. The social media star, with over 100 million followers, will soon make her Hollywood debut with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in ‘Heart Of Stone’, premiering on Netflix next year. Directed by BAFTA-nominated director Tom Harper, Bhatt will be seen in an action avatar in her career's first Hollywood feature.
Reports also claim that she has signed on to a women-led film ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Katrina Kaif.
