Dubai: The Dubai operations of the US healthcare solutions firm BD (Becton, Dickinson, and Company) is working with Emirates Nursing Association on advanced patient safety and healthcare worker protection. The two will focus on critical areas such as infection prevention, complications reduction, medication management, and ensuring the highest standards in vascular access management.

This will go some way towards updating nursing and midwifery practices through an ‘approach that encompasses training programs, community activities, research, and the development of national standards and practice guides’.

Special attention will be given to combating needle-stick injuries and enhancing the quality and efficiency of specimen collection.

“By focusing on key areas such as infection prevention and medication management, we are committed to promoting patient safety and supporting the efficiency of healthcare practices,” said Maher Elhassan, Vice President and General Manager, BD Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey.

“Together, we are poised to make a substantial impact on healthcare outcomes in the UAE.”
